ALLOW WEALTH TO FLOW
What is your secret relationship with wealth? Which do you enjoy more - the power of holding wealth, or the joy of spending it? People respond to wealth in two distinct ways. In Vedic terminology, these two dimensions are represented by two interesting deities – Kubera and Lakshmi. Kubera is famous for hoarding wealth. All his life, he collects and collects and never thinks of spending wealth. Like many of us, he has a neurotic obsession with hoarding inordinate amounts of wealth that he is never ever going to use. Just like us, he enjoys the subtle power that holding wealth can bring. Lakshmi, on the other hand, represents wealth that is flowing, circulating, current. She uses wealth to enrich herself and the world. She creates wealth effortlessly, uses it freely, distributes it unconditionally. Lakshmi breathes life into wealth, and wealth into life. Are you being a Kubera or a Lakshmi right now? Many people do not know how to own wealth; they are owned by it. If you own it, you would be enjoying it! If you cannot spend it or share it freely, what is the use of wealth? Only when wealth is allowed to circulate can it be called wealth at all. Your attitude to wealth is actually a subtle indicator of your attitude towards life. Hoarding wealth is a symptom of deep-rooted insecurity about the goodness of Life. The first thing to understand is, you can hold onto neither wealth nor Life! If you are open, even when wealth leaves you, it can teach you powerful lessons about Life. If you are closed, you will not be able to experience and enjoy wealth even when your life is filled with it. When you flow with the flow of wealth in your life, you will always be filled with abundance.

THE PARABLE OF THE CHINESE BAMBOO AND NETWORK MARKETING
Do you still remember when you were young having so many dreams you wish for in your life? You wish to have a big house, luxurious car, happy family, financial stability, tour around the world,..etc. What happened now, are you living those dreams or is it still a dream? In my case, Im already 27 years old but still those dreams are still dreams. I studied hard and got a stable job but still it is hard for me to reach those dreams. I just thought that merely employment will be the key in reaching my dreams but it seems I am still halfway of my journey to success. Somebody had introduced me about network marketing and it was then that I realized there are other means of making your dreams into reality. All you have to do is to believe and hold just like the chinese farmer in following parable. Watch and understand the video because this will open your mind in reaching your dreams.
It takes time before our dreams becomes reality. The farmer waited for five years before he reaped the fruit of his hardworks. For four years he nurtured the seed but seen no result. Other people mock him and said that he was crazy. He also started to doubt his dreams but he did not give up because he believed someday his dreams will become reality and indeed his hardworks were not wasted.
The same principle could be apply to network marketing. At first many people will not believe you. Many people will discourage you and sometimes mock at you. It is not easy to convince people because most of them believe that network marketing is a scam. Well if you really dont understand what the business is, then you will end up questioning yourself. You will start doubting your decision of joining the business. Lot of network marketers did'nt succeed not because networking is a scum but because they have failed to understand the business. They listened to people who knew nothing about network marketing rather than listening to the experts. They were impatient and wanted to have an immediate result and when they found no result, they gave up not knowing that success is just one step ahead.
Network marketing is just like planting a chinese bamboo seed. You need to cultivate and water it and patiently wait for the right time of harvest. So if you are a network marketer you must have to hold on and continue to nuture your seed because someday your dreams will surely becomes reality.

THE PARABLE OF THE PIPELINE
Many people thinks that employment is the best way of realizing one's dream. Our parents told us to study hard to have better job and a better life. But the reality is finding a job nowadays especially here in the Philippines is very hard. The following parable will help you on how to achieve your dreams other than employment.
SOURCE:YOUTUBE
Other version....
SOURCE:YOUTUBE
Many of us thinks like Bruno and ended-up like Bruno. A lot of employed people today are working so hard in order achieve thier dreams but in the end have failed. Sometimes we didnt realized that we've exchange our health and time for money and worst is only the company owner benefited our hardworks and became more wealthy. Sadly in the Phippines employment has been linked to politics especially in government institution in which those who have "white horses" or "backer" got a better job even if they are unqualied. Another problem in employment is the "contractual system" and anytime you will lost your job without benefits.
What if you will open up your mind and think like Pablo? Would it be happier if someday you have a better health and more time with your loved ones living in your dreams? Come to think of it! It is the time for a change..

The Power of Thoughts
By Remez Sasson
Mind power is one of the strongest and most useful powers you possess.
This power consists of your thoughts.
The thoughts that pass through your mind are responsible for everything that happens in your life. Your predominant thoughts influence your behavior and attitude and control your actions and reactions. As your thoughts are, so is your life.
Be careful of what you think
Thoughts are like a video that plays on the screen of your mind. What you play there, determines the kind of life you live and the experiences you meet. To make changes in your life, you have to play a different video, one that you like more.
The Power of Thoughts Is a Creative Power
You can train and strengthen this power. You can use it to make changes in your life, and also to influence other people's minds.
If you plant seeds, water them, and give them fertilizers, they will grow into healthy and strong plants.
Thoughts, like seeds, have a natural tendency to grow and manifest in your life, if you feed them with attention, interest and enthusiasm.
Your thoughts pass from your conscious mind to your subconscious mind, which in turn, influences your actions in accordance with these thoughts. Your thoughts also pass to other minds, and consequently, people who are in a position to help you, might offer you their help, sometimes, without even knowing why.
This might some strange and unbelievable. You don't have to accept these words, but if you analyze the kind of thoughts you think, and the kind of life you live, you will discover interestings things about the mind.
The power of your mind is part of the creative power of the Universe, which means that your thoughts work together with it. You are a manifestation of the Universal mind.
When you repeat the same thought over and again, in one way or another, this mighty power helps you make your thoughts come true.
Using the power of thoughts effectively, is an act of "practical daydreaming".
How to Use the Power of Your Thoughts?
- Visualize a perfect scene of whatever you want to accomplish.
- Put a lot of detail, color, sound, scent and life into these mental scenes.
- Repeat your visualization often, with faith and attention, and your subconscious will accept these mental scenes as real experiences. The subconscious mind does not distinguish between real and imaginary experiences, and accepts both as real. It will start making changes and attracting opportunities, to make your reality match the images in your subconscious mind.
Actions, situations, and objects that you visualize frequently, eventually, manifest on the material plane in a natural way. This manifestation does not happen overnight. It needs time, and depends on how ambitious and sincere you are, and how much time and attention you put into this action.
You can use this process to change negative habits and build new, positive habits or skills. You can also use it for attracting money and possessions, for promotion at work, for building a business, improving health and relationships, changing circumstances, and for practically almost everything.
Pay attention to the thoughts you think. Do your best to reject negative thoughts, and to allow into your mind only thoughts that bring good, happy, and positive results.

MONKEY BUSINESS
Are you currently shaking your head wondering what is going on in the financial markets? Here is a short story that illustrates it nicely.
-- Author Unknown
Once upon a time... in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.
The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them.
The man bought thousands at $10 and, as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort. He further announced that he would now buy at $20 for a monkey. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.
Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer increased to $25 each, and the supply of monkeys became so small that it was an effort to even find a monkey, let alone catch it!
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him.
In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. "Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35, and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each."
The villagers rounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys.
They never saw the man nor his assistant again, only monkeys everywhere!
Now you have a better understanding of how the stock market works.

Willpower and Self-Discipline
By Remez Sasson
Do you sometimes, feel that you lack the inner strength to take action, act assertively or be persistent?
Are there any habits you want to change, but you lack the necessary willpower and self discipline?
Developing willpower and self-discipline can make a great difference in your life, bringing to the fore, inner strength, which is vital for success and for personal growth.
The possession of these skills or their lack is a major factor, leading to success or to failure, to taking action or to being lazy. This applies to major goals, and also to simple, everyday tasks.
These abilities are vital ingredients of success, both spiritual and material.
- How many times you wanted to go for a walk, knowing how wonderful you feel afterwards, but due to laziness or lack of inner strength, you stayed at home and watched TV instead?
- How many times have you tried to change your eating habits, stop smoking, or get up earlier in the morning, but you didn't possess enough inner strength and persistence?
- Do you start doing things, but quit after a short while?
You can change this behavior when you develop inner strength!
Let's examine these skills.
Willpower Definitions:
- The ability to control or reject unnecessary or harmful impulses.
- the ability to arrive at a decision and follow it with perseverance, until its successful accomplishment.
- It is the inner strength that enables you to refuse to indulge in unnecessary and useless habits.
- It is inner power that enables you to overcome inner and external resistance and obstacles.
- It is the antidote to laziness and procrastination.
Self Discipline Definitions:
- It is the companion of willpower. It gives you with the stamina to persevere with whatever you do.
- It is the strength to withstand physical, emotional and mental hardships and difficulties.
- It stands for perseverance and tenacity.
- It is the ability to reject immediate satisfaction, pleasure or comfort, in order to gain something better, even if it requires effort and time to gain.
With these skills, you have the option to choose your behavior and reactions, instead of being ruled by them. They make you feel more powerful and in charge of yourself.
There is a misconception in the public mind regarding these skills. It is erroneously believed that their development and use require a lot of mental and physical strain and effort. This is not true. You can develop them in a gradual, simple way, by practicing certain exercises, and even enjoy the process.
How to Strengthen Your Willpower and Self Discipline
A simple and effective technique to strengthen your willpower and self-discipline is doing things, which you would rather avoid doing, due to laziness, procrastination, lack of inner strength and assertiveness, shyness, or other similar reasons.
By carrying out such actions, in spite of your inner resistance, you become stronger.
As muscles get stronger by resisting the weight of barbells, so these skills are strengthened by overcoming inner resistance.
Willpower and Self Discipline Exercises
Exercise no. 1
You are sitting in a bus or train and an old man or woman, or a pregnant lady walks in. Stand up and give up your seat, even if you prefer to stay seated. Act so, not just because it is polite, but because you are doing something that you are reluctant to do. This is an exercise in overcoming the resistance of your body, mind and feelings.

Exercise no. 2
There are dishes in the sink that need washing, and you postpone washing them for later. Get up and wash them now. Do not let laziness control you. When you know that in this way, you are actually strengthening yourself, it becomes easier to take immediate action, despite laziness and the desire to procrastinate.

You will find many more exercises in my book about this topic.
These are very simple exercises, which everyone can practice. Remember, the purpose of the exercises is to develop inner strength, not to make life difficult for you.
If you practice weight lifting, running or aerobics, you strengthen your muscles, and therefore, you can use your physical strength whenever you need it.
It is the same with willpower and self-discipline. When you strengthen them, you make them available for use, whenever you need them. They give you more control over your life, help you change and improve habits, and are essential for personal and spiritual growth and for achieving success.

HOW TO ATTAIN WEALTH WITH MIND POWER
By Remez Sasson
The word wealth brings into the mind thoughts about riches, plenty of money and the ability to buy and enjoy whatever one wants. It brings thoughts about fancy houses, hotels, world travel, cars and everything money can buy. It is something most people want, but do not believe they can get and enjoy.
Wealth is all the above and much more.
Wealth is not restricted only to money and possessions. It manifests as plentitude in various and many forms in our life and in nature. A person can be wealthy with love, compassion, goodness, strength, energy, knowledge and wisdom.
Nature manifests wealth in the many life forms and plants it produces, and in the endless stars and worlds it has created.
The Life Force, which is also called the Universal Consciousness, Spirit or Creative Power, desires to express and manifest itself.
This power also expresses itself as the desire to manifest wealth, to grow, develop, and become stronger and bigger.
This natural desire manifests through everyone, but is often inhibited, due to negative programming, negative thinking, and lack of faith in themselves and in their abilities.
Changing Your Attitude Toward Wealth
The first step to make wealth flow into your life is to change your thoughts and attitude toward it. The mind has to be cleared from its wrong concepts about wealth, before it can start to manifest. This is done by bringing to consciousness all of your thoughts and ideas about wealth, money and prosperity.
Take a pen and a sheet of paper, and find a place to be alone and undisturbed for a while. Think about wealth and what it means to you, and then jot down any thought that comes into your mind. Write down every thought, good and bad, positive and negative. Do this for at least ten minutes or until you do not find more ideas and thoughts.
After you finish writing, read, think, and analyze what you have written. You will be surprised at the stuff that comes out of your mind. This analysis will help you to find out where and why you are inhibiting yourself in regard to success, money, and prosperity. You will find out what thoughts and wrong concepts have been holding you back.
You will discover the fears that have been holding you from success, and from manifesting any degree of riches in your life. There might be various reasons to account for that. You may have been educated to regard wealth as bad and corrupting. You may have experienced lack in your childhood, and now you are locked into the belief that it is not possible to improve your life or that you do not deserve to possess money.
It might be that you shun the responsibility and the work that wealth might entail.
Maybe you are afraid that you would not be able to handle wealth or that you will not know what to do with it.
These reasons or any others, might be responsible not experiencing prosperity and wealth.
The inner inhibitions are mostly due to past mental programming, making you feel and believe that you are not worthy, do not deserve success or that wealth and money should be avoided.
If you perform this analysis sincerely, you will find out what thoughts and attitudes hinder your way to success, and it will be clearer to you what you should do. Now that they are out, it will be easier to handle these inhibitions, free yourself from their grip, and start attracting wealth into your life.
If one session is not enough, keep writing down your thoughts, and think about them every day until feel you have discovered what is holding you back.
After this analysis, you will find it easier to change your thoughts and attitude toward money, possessions and wealth.
You will find it easier, and you will experience less inner resistance when you visualize what you want to get or accomplish. It will take less effort to reject negative or contradictory thoughts from entering your mind.
Persistence in your efforts of holding an image of success in your mind until you realize your desire, and at the same time keeping an open mind for opportunities, will lead you to do the right thing at the right time, and attract the right people at the right time.
An intense and concentrated thought possesses a vast power. All wealthy people focus their energies in a positive and powerful manner on what they desire to achieve. Some of them understand and practice consciously the laws of success, while others do so unconsciously.
Unlimited Thinking
The Universal Consciousness is unlimited and contains unlimited wealth. There is plenty of everything in it, and it constantly creates more of everything. It expresses itself through everything, including the individual unit that you consider as yourself. The problem is that negative thoughts and attitudes hamper the natural tendency of the Universal Consciousness to freely manifest its creative powers in unlimited ways.
You need to open your mind to prosperity and throw away your limiting thoughts. It does not matter how limited your life and circumstances are at the present moment, because if you choose to change your thoughts and attitudes, and start thinking without imposing limitations, your life will start to change. In your mind, refuse to be tied and limited by your circumstances. Think about possibilities, not about limitations.
Expand your unlimited thinking to what you consider as yourself, your personality and individuality. Your Consciousness is one with the Universal Consciousness. If you consider yourself as only a body you limit yourself. You are limitless consciousness, but erroneously identify yourself with the body and therefore feel limited. The feeling of limitation obstructs you from expressing the great powers of the Universal Consciousness. By being one with the Universal Consciousness you participate in the power of creation. Think about it, you are connected to the powers of the Universe.
Mind Power and Prosperity
Prosperity and success can be yours if you seek them with an open mind.
- Find out your inhibiting thoughts.
- Analyze your thoughts and strive to get rid of the negative ones.
- Put into your mind positive and unlimiting thoughts.
- Visualize your desire day after day.
Gradually, you will start to see your circumstances improving.
Thoughts possess power. You should be aware of the thoughts you think and admit only positive ones.
Visualization is one of the most important keys to success.
- Visualize clearly your desire.
- Put feelings into your mental images.
- Add faith and belief.
This will create a mighty power. Keep an open mind, be willing to act and take up the opportunities that will come your way, and you are on the proper road to success.

Why Failure Is Good for Success
The sweetest victory is the one that’s most difficult. The one that requires you to reach down deep inside, to fight with everything you’ve got, to be willing to leave everything out there on the battlefield—without knowing, until that do-or-die moment, if your heroic effort will be enough.
Society doesn’t reward defeat, and you won’t find many failures documented in history books. The exceptions are those failures that become steppingstones to later success. Such is the case with Thomas Edison, whose most memorable invention was the light bulb, which purportedly took him 1,000 tries before he developed a successful prototype. “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” a reporter asked. “I didn’t fail 1,000 times,” Edison responded. “The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.”
Unlike Edison, many of us avoid the prospect of failure. In fact, we’re so focused on not failing that we don’t aim for success, settling instead for a life of mediocrity. When we do make missteps, we gloss over them, selectively editing out the miscalculations or mistakes in our life’s résumé.
“Failure is not an option,” NASA flight controller Jerry C. Bostick reportedly stated during the mission to bring the damaged Apollo 13 back to Earth, and that phrase has been etched into the collective memory ever since.
To many in our success-driven society, failure isn’t just considered a non-option—it’s deemed a deficiency, says Kathryn Schulz, author of Being Wrong: Adventures in the Margin of Error. “Of all the things we are wrong about, this idea of error might well top the list,” Schulz says. “It is our meta-mistake: We are wrong about what it means to be wrong. Far from being a sign of intellectual inferiority, the capacity to err is crucial to human cognition.”
Life’s Greatest Teacher
When we take a closer look at the great thinkers throughout history, a willingness to take on failure isn’t a new or extraordinary thought at all. From the likes of Augustine, Darwin and Freud to the business mavericks and sports legends of today, failure is as powerful a tool as any in reaching great success.
“Failure and defeat are life’s greatest teachers [but] sadly, most people, and particularly conservative corporate cultures, don’t want to go there,” says Ralph Heath, managing partner of Synergy Leadership Group and author of Celebrating Failure: The Power of Taking Risks, Making Mistakes and Thinking Big. “Instead they choose to play it safe, to fly below the radar, repeating the same safe choices over and over again. They operate under the belief that if they make no waves, they attract no attention; no one will yell at them for failing because they generally never attempt anything great at which they could possibly fail (or succeed).”
However, in today’s post-recession economy, some employers are no longer shying away from failure—they’re embracing it. According to a recent article in BusinessWeek, many companies are deliberately seeking out those with track records reflecting both failure and success, believing that those who have been in the trenches, survived battle and come out on the other side have irreplaceable experience and perseverance. They’re veterans of failure.
The prevailing school of thought in progressive companies—such as Intuit, General Electric, Corning and Virgin Atlantic—is that great success depends on great risk, and failure is simply a common byproduct. Executives of such organizations don’t mourn their mistakes but instead parlay them into future gains.
“The quickest road to success is to possess an attitude toward failure of ‘no fear,’ ” says Heath. “To do their work well, to be successful and to keep their companies competitive, leaders and workers on the front lines need to stick their necks out a mile every day. They have to deliver risky, edgy, breakthrough ideas, plans, presentations, advice, technology, products, leadership, bills and more. And they have to deliver all this fearlessly—without any fear whatsoever of failure, rejection or punishment.”
Reaching Your Potential
The same holds true for personal quests, whether in overcoming some specific challenge or reaching your full potential in all aspects of life. To achieve your personal best, to reach unparalleled heights, to make the impossible possible, you can’t fear failure, you must think big, and you have to push yourself.
When we think of people with this mindset, we imagine the daredevils, the pioneers, the inventors, the explorers: They embrace failure as a necessary step to unprecedented success.
But you don’t have to walk a tightrope, climb Mount Everest or cure polio to employ this mindset in your own life. When the rewards of success are great, embracing possible failure is key to taking on a variety of challenges, whether you’re reinventing yourself by starting a new business or allowing yourself to trust another person to build a deeper relationship.
“To achieve any worthy goal, you must take risks,” says writer and speaker John C. Maxwell. In his book Failing Forward: Turning Mistakes into Stepping Stones for Success, he points to the example of legendary aviator Amelia Earhart, who set several records and achieved many firsts in her lifetime, including being the first female pilot to fly solo over the Atlantic Ocean. Although her final flight proved fateful, Maxwell believes she knew the risk—and that the potential reward was worth it. “[Earhart’s] advice when it came to risk was simple and direct: ‘Decide whether or not the goal is worth the risks involved. If it is, stop worrying.’ ”
Of course, the risks you take should be calculated; you shouldn’t fly blindly into the night and simply hope for the best. Achieving the goal or at least waging a heroic effort requires preparation, practice and some awareness of your skills and talents.
Easing Into a Fearless Mindset
“One of the biggest secrets to success is operating inside your strength zone but outside of your comfort zone,” Heath says. Although you might fail incredibly, you might succeed incredibly—and that’s why incredible risk and courage are requisite. Either way, you’ll learn more than ever about your strengths, talents and resolve, and you’ll strengthen your will for the next challenge.
If this sounds like dangerous territory, it can be. But there are ways to ease into this fearless mindset. The first is to consciously maintain a positive attitude so that, no matter what you encounter, you’ll be able to see the lessons of the experience and continue to push forward.
“It’s true that not everyone is positive by nature,” says Maxwell, who cites his father as someone who would describe himself as a negative person by nature. “Here’s how my dad changed his attitude. First he made a choice: He continually chooses to have a positive attitude. Second, he’s continually reading and listening to materials that bolster that attitude. For example, he’s read The Power of Positive Thinking many times. I didn’t get it at first, so once I asked him why. His response: ‘Son, I need to keep filling the tank so I can stay positive.’ ”
Heath recommends studying the failures and subsequent reactions of successful people and, within a business context, repeating such histories for others. “Reward them and applaud their efforts in front of the entire organization so everyone understands it is OK to fail. So employees say to themselves, ‘I see that Bill, the vice president of widgets, who the president adores, failed, and he is not only back at work, but he is driving a hot new sports car. I can fail and come to work the next day. Bill is proof of it.’ ”
Finally, Heath stays motivated by the thought that, “if I become complacent and don’t take risks, someone will notice what I am doing and improve upon my efforts over time, and put me out of work. You’ve got to keep finding better ways to run your life, or someone will take what you’ve accomplished, improve upon it, and be very pleased with the results. Keep moving forward or die.”

A STORY THAT CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE
By Mac Anderson. Founder, Simple Truths
In 1972, Jim Cathcart was working at the Little Rock, Arkansas Housing Authority, making $525 a month, with a new wife and baby at home, no college degree, no past successes, and not much hope for the foreseeable future.
One morning, he was sitting in his office listening to the radio, to a program called "Our Changing World" by Earl Nightingale, who was known as "the Dean of Personal Motivation." That day, Nightingale, in his booming voice, said something that would change Jim's life forever: "If you will spend an extra hour each day in study of your chosen field, you will be a national expert in that field in five years or less."
Jim was stunned, but the more he thought about it the more it made sense. Although he had never given a speech, he had always wanted to help people grow in areas of personal development and motivation. He began his quest to put Nightingale's theory to the test by reading books and listening to tapes whenever he could. He also started exercising, became better organized, and joined a self-improvement study group. He persisted through weeks of temptations to quit, just by doing a little more each day to further his goal. Within six months he had learned more than he had in his few years of college, and he began to believe he could turn his goal of becoming a motivational speaker into reality. All the hard work, the discipline, and study paid off. Jim now has delivered more than 2,500 speeches worldwide and has won every major award in the speaking industry.
Just like companies have market value, so do people. In the simplest terms, your market value increases by knowing and doing more. Knowledge is power, not only for your career, but also to improve your family and spiritual life. I once heard a quote that sums it up well, "Knowledge is like climbing a mountain; the higher you reach the more you can see and appreciate."
I love stories because for me, they can bring an idea to life. This one and many others can be found in my book, The Nature of Success.

HOW TO ATTRACT WEALTH
One of the powerful techniques for attracting wealth is using your power of visualization and manifestation. But as we are only too aware, every intention we have, no matter how strong or deep, does not automatically become reality! Why is this? For an intention or desire to be transformed into reality, your inner space or inner screen needs to be totally clean. As of now, your inner space is corrupted by many unconscious thoughts. The moment you insert a conscious intention into your inner space, ten unconscious thoughts will rise to fight with it! So the power of your intention is diluted and naturally it cannot become reality. When your inner space is cleansed of unconscious thoughts, whatever intention goes in will be a single, conscious, integrated force. This intention will be powerful enough to express itself as reality. This technique is a simple but powerful way to clean your inner screen of unconscious thoughts by infusing awareness into it. Even if it looks too simple, try it. Only when you do it can you experience the effects. The whole restaurant can be reduced to a menu card. Only when you eat will you realize that the food can fill you! Duration: 21 minutes
INSTRUCTIONS
Close your eyes. Sit straight. Inhale and exhale as slowly and as deeply as possible. Visualize your inner screen as a dark blackboard, as dark as possible. Whatever appears on that inner blackboard, start visually wiping it away. Just as an eraser is used to clean a blackboard, in the same way just wipe clean the inner blackboard or inner screen. Now, visualize the number ‘3’ on your inner screen. Visualize it very clearly and then wipe it away slowly. Repeat this three times. Next, visualize the number ‘2’ on your inner screen, and then wipe it away slowly. Repeat this three times. Then, visualize the number ‘1’ and wipe it away slowly in the same way. Repeat this three times. Now visualize the number ‘0’ and wipe it away very slowly. Repeat this three times. By the time you reach the number zero, you will have no thoughts that are unconscious. You will reach awareness before you start creating thoughts unconsciously. Your visualization becomes so powerful that the inner screen really becomes empty. The moment the inner screen becomes empty, you can start looking in. You will begin seeing your being as it is. Now, just witness the empty screen. Do not create, maintain or destroy any thought. Just witness the empty screen. Continue to be with yourself for a few moments. This simple technique can sharpen your powers of visualization in ways you will never imagine! Visualization is a powerful way to attract abundance into your life.

STARBUCKS' First Mate: Howard Schultz
"I always wanted to do something to make a difference."-Howard Schultz
Everyone knows Starbucks, the ubiquitous retail chain that, in the 1990s, turned coffee drinking into a national pastime. But few know Howard Schultz, the self-effacing chairman, CEO and mastermind behind Starbucks' astonishing growth. By bringing Italy's "coffeehouse culture" to the United States and packaging it for mass consumption, this maverick marketer transformed a little-known four-store chain in the leading retailer of specialty coffee in North America.
Born in 1953, Schultz was raised in the rough and tumble Bay View housing project in Brooklyn, New York. His mother worked as a receptionist and his father held a variety of jobs, none of which paid much or offered such basic benefits as medical coverage for him and his family. When Schultz was 7, his father lost his job as a diaper-service delivery driver after breaking his ankle. At the time, sick pay or even legally mandated disability assistance were luxuries to those in low-paying jobs, and in the ensuing months, the family was literally too poor to put food on the table. It was a memory that Schultz would carry with him into adulthood.
Determined to build a better life for himself, Schultz channeled his energy into high school sports and earned an athletic scholarship to Northern Michigan University. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in business in 1975, Schultz immediately began working in the sales and marketing division of Xerox Corp. Schultz excelled at Xerox, so much so that he attracted the attention of the Swedish housewares company Perstorp AB, which recruited him at the age of 26 to be vice president and general manager of their American subsidiary, Hammerplast USA.
While at Hammerplast, Schultz noticed that a small Seattle company named Starbucks (after the first mate in Hermann Melville's classic Moby Dick) was buying an unusually high number of Hammerplast's espresso machines. Intrigued, he flew to Seattle to investigate and found four Starbucks outlets. Originally founded in 1971 as a single store near Seattle's famed Pike Street Market, Starbucks sold freshly roasted gourmet coffee beans as well as teas, spices and various coffee-making accessories.
Impressed by Schultz's energy and marketing skills, Starbucks owners Gerald Baldwin and Gordon Bowker-who possessed very little business knowledge-asked Schultz to become part of their operation. Enticed by their offer, which included part ownership, Schultz joined Starbucks as head of its marketing and retail operations in 1982.
A year later, during a vacation in Italy, Schultz had what he has described as an "epiphany." While sitting at one of Milan's many espresso bars, he realized that the coffee shop played an integral role in the social life of most Italians. It was a focal point for the neighborhood, where friends met, mingled and lingered at all hours of the day. "Seeing this, I thought to myself, 'Why not open a coffee bar in Seattle?' " Schultz recalls in an interview in The New York Times.
Returning to Seattle, Schultz shared his epiphany with his fellow Starbucks owners. Although coffee was brewed in the shops, it was done so only at the request of customers and dispensed as free samples, and Baldwin and Bowker were unwilling to move beyond the stores' core product offerings.
Convinced he had hit upon something big, Schultz left Starbucks in 1986 to open his own espresso bar called Il Giornale (The Daily). The venture was a hit. Schultz wanted to open more shops, but didn't have the funding he needed to expand. In a quirky twist of fate, a year later he learned that Baldwin and Bowker wished to sell their outlets, so after rounding up investors from the Seattle area, Schultz purchased the original Starbucks chain for $3.8 million and merged the stores with his own.
Once in charge, Schultz set out to completely overhaul Starbucks according to his vision. In addition to the $1-per-cup "basic" brew, he expanded Starbucks' offerings to include more exotic coffee beverages such as espresso, cappuccino, café latte, iced coffee and café mocha. He also sought to create a more appealing atmosphere for his customers-the proverbial "clean, well-lighted place" where they could relax and enjoy their coffee in comfort.
But the most radical change Schultz made was to improve the way his company dealt with its employees. Convinced that friendly, efficient service would boost sales, he instituted a training program designed to groom knowledgeable employees who would enjoy working behind a counter, an occupation considered by many to be menial labor. "Service is a lost art in America.it's not viewed as a professional job to work behind a counter," Schultz says. "We don't believe that. We want to provide our people with dignity and self-esteem, so we offer tangible benefits." Among the benefits Schultz offers is complete health-care coverage to both full- and part-time employees, as well as stock options, practices that are virtually unheard of in corporate America. As a result of Schultz's vision, Starbucks experienced unprecedented growth throughout the 1990s, blossoming from 425 stores in 1994 to more than 2,200 stores in 1998. And the company is on target to break the $2 billion in the year 2000.
With annual sales topping $1.7 billion in 1999, Starbucks Corp. reigned as the nation's No. 1 specialty coffee retailer. Quite an impressive achievement for a blue-collar kid from the projects. But despite Starbucks' phenomenal success, what Howard Schultz seems most proud of is not how much he has earned, but the kind of company he has created. "My dad was a blue-collar worker," Schultz explains in an Inc. magazine interview. "He didn't have health insurance or benefits, and I saw firsthand the debilitating effect that had on him and on our family. I decided if I was ever in the position to make a contribution to others in that way, I would. My greatest success has been that I got to build the kind of company my father never got to work for."

The Benefit Of Benefits
Howard Schultz credits Starbucks Corp.'s benefits policy as one of the keys to his company's dramatic growth. By extending health benefits to all employees, Schultz has created a more dedicated work force and promoted an extremely high level of customer service. He has also achieved a turnover rate that is less than half the average of other fast-food businesses, saving the company countless thousands in training costs and enhancing its ability to attract and retain good employees.
Another benefit that makes Starbucks stand out from its competitors is its stock-option plan. Dubbed "bean stock," unlike most plans, which are only available to top executives, Starbucks gives stock options to everyone in the company. "My aim was to give our employees a vested interest in the company," Schultz says. "And that, I think, has made all the difference."
Cartoons And Coffee
One of the true "good guys" of the business world, Howard Schultz's philanthropic endeavors have extended beyond just helping his employees have better lives. One of his major philanthropic concerns has been helping to improve literacy in America. To this end, in 1998, Starbucks formed an unprecedented partnership with Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Garry Trudeau to create products to benefit local literacy programs across America. The collection marked the first time that a series of licensed Doonesbury products had been sold in retail stores. The series featured such Doonesbury characters as Duke, Mike, Kim and Zonker on T-shirts, tumblers, ceramic mugs, coffee gift cards and limited-edition lithographs.
